WHO IS DEBBSS?

That’s a tricky one, I’m still on a path to self-discovery, that’s why I go as “urdebbss”. It opposes both a question and a statement. “urdebbss” as in “you’re debbss?” and a simple “oh you’re debbss”. Debbss is both an introvert and an extrovert. A person who loves talking about everything, and is very open-minded.

WHEN DID YOU START YOUR JOURNEY AS A PHOTOGRAPHER?

I started my journey back in middle school when I fell in love with film and polaroid cameras. As I got older, I branched out a bit. Although I’ve been on this photography journey for a while, I began taking it seriously when I purchased my first “professional” camera last December.

IS IT HARD CAPTURING IDEAL PHOTOS DURING LIVE SETS?

Yes, but not always. The equipment you use will either make or break you. That’s why I love the whole concept of raw/in the moment photos. Things move fast, there’s usually a ton of energy in the air, and the best moments often don’t occur twice. That’s where the action/sports mode on cameras come in handy. Event photographers like myself have to learn to have a good feel for what is going on so they can anticipate what is going to happen. Your awareness is so important at events. When the camera is down you should be looking around trying to figure out where and when the next picture-perfect moment is going to appear.

DO YOU SEE YOURSELF BRANCHING INTO FILM OR IS PHOTOGRAPHY WHERE IT'S AT FOR YOU?

Yes, I’ve actually been experimenting with film.

HOW CAN FUTURE CLIENTS BOOK YOU FOR EVENTS?

At the moment, future clients can book me for an event simply by messaging me on Instagram (@urdebbss) or emailing me (urdebbss@gmail.com). Sometime at the beginning of next year, I will have an official booking site up.

WHAT'S NEXT FOR DEBBSS?

Not only am I a photographer, but I am a “host” and event coordinator. All I can say is watch out for bigger and better events, photos, collaborations, and who knows, there might even be some merch out, mid-April. Just follow my journey.
